If you count influence of the man, really the century's best president along with Roosevelt is President Carter. He has worked to mitigate the effects of guinea worm, dictatorships and helped transition nations (including Israel lately) to democracy for all. Lately he is meeting with Hamas, which is apparently shocking to all three Presidential candidates. While all the other former Presidents are making millions of dollars in speeches, Carter is working to eradicated guinea worm, meeting with Maoists and criticizing Israel for its apartheid-like politics.
